Mike Bets #322
3 min readHappy Sunday. Yesterday was a 2-1 day to bring us into the last day of the week in a solid spot. Now we finish. With all 30 teams in action for fifteen games across the last day of the regular season, there are plenty of places to find some winners today. Of course, there are also a lot of teams looking to sit players and maneuver through the seeding scenarios. Let’s get to work and see what’s out there.
TODAY’S PLAYS
NBA record: 205-191-8 ATS (22-38 Underdog ML), 13-16-1 O/U, 5-8 parlay, 0-2 props
- Celtics -7
The Celtics, by all appearances, seem to want the 2 seed, so they should be playing hard. With Memphis sitting four starters and potentially Desmond Bane and Brandon Clarke too, there shouldn’t be a whole lot of opposition if Boston does get after it in this one.
- Timberwolves -7
The Timberwolves (7) and Bulls (6) are both locked into their respective seeds at this point, so this game theoretically doesn’t matter much for either. But Minnesota still has play-in game(s) to play to get to the real bracket, and that means you don’t want to take your foot off the pedal and risk dropping momentum. This is especially true for the Timberwolves, who’ve struggled the last few weeks. With a free-falling and very mediocre Bulls team (19th in net rating) coming to town, I like Minnesota to roll.
- Magic +10
There’s going to be just about nobody playing in this game on either side, which makes a +10 line seem a little big. Orlando can keep it to single digits.
- Thunder +12
The Clippers are sitting a bunch of guys with their play-in game coming up on Tuesday and this being the second night of a back-to-back. OKC hasn’t been competitive the last two games, but they have been for the most part down the stretch. They can stick within 12.
- Nets -16
The Pacers just played yesterday and actively want to lose for the sake of lottery odds. The Nets will want to win to keep their spot in the 7/8 game. This one might be ugly.
- Jazz -18.5
The Blazers are in a truly horrendous spot as a basketball team, and the Jazz still have seeding implications to worry about with the 5 seed and the Nuggets. Utah can win by a whole lot of points in this one. The Blazers last four games against teams other than the Thunder ended in losses of at least 19, and they lost by 50 the other day.
- Bucks +8.5
The Bucks are resting players in this one, but it just doesn’t make sense to give Cleveland this many points against anyone. They have just two wins of 9+ in the last two months.
- Mavs -10.5
Dallas is playing well and can still rise to the 3 seed with a win and Warriors loss. San Antonio just played last night and will play in New Orleans for the 9/10 game regardless of tonight’s outcome. The Mavs should roll.
