Mike Bets #76
3 min readHappy 2021. Let’s get straight to the picks on a slow day for basketball. There are no major conference games in college.
Yesterday was another positive day.
College Basketball Record: 187-181-3 on individual bets, 7-42 on parlays, +$51.00
All Involved CBB Picks: 263-243-6 ATS, 20-27 Dog MLs
NBA Record: 6-11, 0-2 on parlays, -$129
Joint Parlays: 0-2, -$25
$22 for spread picks, $20 for ML
- Robert Morris v. UWM (+130)
UWM’s 3-1 start is understandably not getting them much respect here. They just haven’t been good over the last few years, and relatively close wins over Western Michigan and UW Green Bay don’t prove much. There’s just no reason to take a 2-3 Robert Morris team here. I’ll bet on UWM’s progress being real.
- Trail Blazers (-3.5) v. Warriors
The Blazers were embarrassed last time out against the Clippers. The Warriors haven’t come within 20 of anyone other than the Bulls or Pistons. I like Portland to get a comfortable win here.
- Clippers (-3.5) v. Jazz
The Jazz are coming off of a loss to the Suns just last night. The Clippers didn’t play yesterday and have won tow in a row in blowout fashion since the big loss to the Mavs. The Clippers should roll in this one.
- Timberwolves v. Wizards (-105)
The Wizards have to win at some point. It has to happen. This team is too talented to lose three in a row to the Bulls and the KAT-less Timberwolves and fall to 0-6 on the season. Washington gets this one.
- Heat (-1) v. Mavs
The return of Jimmy Butler gives the Heat all they need to beat out a Mavs team that has struggled to put together wins so far with Kristaps Porzingis sitting out.
- Bucks (-14.5) v. Bulls
The Bulls are down four players, and the Bucks are coming off a disappointing loss. The Bucks roll.
- NBA Parlay – $14 to win $170
MLs for Celtics, Wizards, Nets, Lakers, Clippers, Blazers
What could go wrong?
GAMES TO KEEP AN EYE ON
- Kent State v. Akron
Two 3-1 MAC teams with little experience this season meet here. Akron only has the loss to St Bonaventure, and they beat a good team in Ohio by 20 last time out. Kent State has only lost to Virginia in a close game, and they will have the chance to open up conference play 1-0 here. They haven’t played in roughly 20 days though. Can they hit the ground running? Keep an eye on this one to see how these two look in a key game.
- Western Kentucky v. Charlotte
There are some decent teams in Conference USA, but Western Kentucky should be the best of them. Beating a middling Charlotte team in the first conference game of the season is a necessary start on the road to proving superiority. Keep an eye on WKU’s ability to win here.
- Grizzlies v. Hornets
The Grizzlies have really struggled so far. They’re 1-3 with their only win coming in OT over a Nets team with both Kyrie and KD. Keep an eye on this one to see if they can pull out of the slump against a Hornets team coming off of wins over the fully stocked Nets and the Mavs.
- Nuggets v. Suns
The Suns played last night against Utah. Can they put together another good performance tonight against a Denver team that has struggled a little bit so far? Keep an eye on this one to see if Denver can avoid a fall to 1-4?
