Happy Wednesday. Yesterday was a 1-1 day on a very quiet night of basketball. I was right about UWM and the under, but Providence needed everything they had just to beat Rider and fell well short of coverage. Today is a more typical day. Let’s get to it.

NBA

No games last night

CBB

  • Georgetown let Coppin State score 83 in regulation and needed overtime to win, but they won! Not the most promising start though.
  • The same could be said of Providence (+1 v Rider) and South Carolina (+3 v South Carolina State).

TODAY’S PLAYS

NBA record: 29-22 ATS, 6-5 ML, 2-3 O/U, 0-0 parlay, 0-1 props, +3.85 units

  • Trail Blazers -4.5

Portland now has Dame back and was playing alright without him. They’re facing a Charlotte team that’s lost five in a row and would have only covered this spread in one of those games. Take the Blazers.

  • Knicks ML (+138)

The Knicks haven’t been a whole lot better than the Nets, but they have been slightly better. I’ll take them at plus odds here.

  • Mavs -7

The Mavs have been a borderline top 5 team this year. The Magic have been a borderline bottom five team. This line is just small enough to like.

  • Jazz ML (+148)

The Jazz are outscoring opponents by 4.1 points more per 100 possessions than the Hawks. They need to be the play at plus odds tonight.

  • Grizzlies -5.5

The Grizzles have been pretty effective against teams not named the Jazz or Mavericks, and the Spurs are starting to fall apart a little bit here with four consecutive losses. I like Memphis to cover this line.

  • Suns -1

The Suns have lost two of three, but they’ve still been significantly better than the Timberwolves so far. I like them with such a small line.

  • Bucks -5.5

The Bucks just beat the Thunder by 14 without Giannis. I think they’ll be alright to cover tonight.

CBB record: 4-3 ATS, 0-0 ML, 1-0 O/U, 0-0 parlay, +1.7 units
